New Clubhouse Project

The canoe club are now working on a third option for their enforced relocation.

We have planning permission for a clubhouse to be built on a green field site at the far end of Tiddenfoot Waterside Park adjacent to the canal. This would be a two storey semi buried building with boat storage on the lower level facing the canal and showers, changing facilities toilets and clubroom on the upper level with the main entrance off Mentmore Road, Linslade.

The second option for which a planning application was submitted is on a site owned by RMC immediately adjacent to the current site to the South. Which they were prepared to lease to the canoe club on a long lease with favourable terms.

The latest scheme uses the existing workshop building on the same RMC site for boat storage and changing rooms with a new clubhouse being built of the site of a number of sheds used until recently for the manufacture of precast concrete paving slabs. This site is currently favoured by the club over the first option as some of the existing buildings on the site could be converted for our use in a considerably shorter time and at significantly lower cost.
